The artwork “Smiling Cherub” (Illuminated capitals series) is full of vibrant colors and positive vibes. It pictures the letter C. What makes it beautiful is that It’s covered by genuine gold to make it shiny and bright. In addition to it, carnations were painted on top with their stems going all over the letter, intertwining with it and hiding behind. A focal point of the work is a cute baby cherub. He sits on the letter looking at you as if asking you whether you’re ready to fall in love!
The name “cupid” comes from ancient Roman mythology. Moreover it is considered that a cupid was the son of Venus the Goddess of love. We are used to seeing him as a mischievous young man. He shoots arrows at people and force them to fall in love.
Baby angels with chubby cheeks and little wings are so cute and romantic, aren’t they? Sometimes they can carry a bow or a long arrow. However, they never look dangerous or intimidating. They call them cherubs, cupids or just little angels. These amazing creatures are constantly looking for lonely people to fill their hearts with the joy of love.
