It is almost impossible to imagine Valentine’s Day celebration without a special greeting card. Receiving a gorgeous piece creates a strong emotional connection. Moreover, cards are often become precious keepsakes. For example, in some families people hand down unique pieces through the generations. That’s why today on Valentine’s Day people expect to get a lovely card from family members, friends or just acquaintances. Additionally, many can spend hours Internet surfing to choose the right card as a present. Furthermore, there are those who prefer making unique cards themselves. According to some sources, each year in February people swop more than a billion of greeting cards worldwide. Valentine’s Day is the second most popular card-sending occasion in the world.
Legend about Saint Valentine
They believe that there was a priest in Rome in the 3d century AD. He sent the first valentine card. He lived during the time of Emperor Claudius II. The empire was in deep crises. All men were sent to serve the country. The sovereign banned marriages. He made all male population of Rome Empire soldiers.
Not all people agreed with these harsh methods.
They say that there was a priest. He despite all odds and danger continued arranging secret marriages. Once the authorities caught him. They sentenced him to death. In jail he fell in love with a nice girl. She was a daughter of a priest’s jailer. On the day of his execution he left a love letter signed Your Valentine. It was his way to say a farewell.
I designed “Be loved” to show the purity of true love when two people love each other for all that they are, all that they have been and all they are yet to be. Life is finite and fragile. Just because today there is someone around. It doesn’t mean that tomorrow you won’t be alone. We need to cherish and show our feeling to someone we love day by day. Everything is temporary, but love outlives us all. We shouldn’t waist it.
